The record unbroken...

Well, Owen did not score but his former and current teammates did. Both Gerrard and Beckham scored after numerous chances were squandered...again in the second half (51st and 62nd). But end results count and England still lead Group 6 with 16 points, a point in front of Poland. Once again Rooney playing the vital roal and chipping the ball to Gerrard for the first break through Azerbaijan's defensive wall...

In Group 7, Serbia & Montenegro and Spain drew with no goals being scored. Table now stands at 11 points and 9 respectively, with Lithuania down in third curtesy of goal difference.

Greece winning 2-0 against Albania, putting them in 2nd place behind Ukraine. 17 and 14 points respectively in Group 2. Turkey coming in at 3rd with 12 points, and the Danes in 4th with 9 points. Turkey had a nice time trouncing Georgia 5-2 and Denmark losing 1-0 against Ukraine.

Israel and France drew 1 all in Group 4, both teams also drawn in points of 10 each. France leading on goal difference. Both the Swiss and the Irish closing in 3rd and 4th respectively with 9 points a piece. Switzerland winning 1-0 against Cyprus.

The Dutch won 2-0 against Armenia, topping Group 1 with 16 points. In 2nd, Czech Republic with 15 points. The Czechs winning 4-0 against Andorra.

Portugal drawing 1 all against Slovakia. Both of them topping Group 3 with 14 points a piece.
